John Killen
John Killen is a retired newspaper journalist who worked variously as an editor, reporter and sports writer during his 41-year career. After graduating with a degree in English Literature from The College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho, he worked for the Idaho Free Press for two years, the Lewiston Morning Tribune for 11 years and for The Oregonian for 27 years. He also taught journalism and communications at Lincoln High School in Portland for one year after retirement. He and wife Marlie Killen, a retired teacher, raised three sons and live in Southeast Portland.
