Kenneth R. O'Connell

Author's Biography

Kenneth R. O'Connell is Professor Emeritus of Art at the University of Oregon in Eugene. He was Head of the UO Art Department from 1986-1998. He produced over 10 short experimental and animated films. His films were shown in festival in Hiroshima, Zagreb, New York, WGBH TV in Boston, and Ann Arbor Film Festival. His film "Strings" was awarded 3rd place in the USA Festival in Dallas, Texas in 1975. He was Art Gallery Director at the international computer graphics conference SIGGRAPH in Los Angeles in 1995. He has exhibited his artwork in photography, drawing and painting, printmaking, and ceramics throughout the NW.

Born in 1945, O'Connell received his MFA with honors from the University of Oregon in 1972.
