Sheri King
Sheri King has lived in Yamhill County since 2007 when she and her family moved to Lafayette. She began writing historical articles for a community website there and while researching the town's past, she realized there was little to show for its rich history. She was given permission by the city administration to apply for state historical markers and provided all of the research to go along with those. The state approved the applications and placed two markers in Lafayette. She then wrote two self-published books using the research she had done. Last year, she was a tour guide for the only U.S. presidential historical museum in Oregon and has been a volunteer at Yamhill County's Heritage Museum since 2016. She is a contributor to their newsletter and has also written several articles for magazines and newspapers.
