David Porter

David Porter is a retired, non-profit Director who wrote much institutional material during stints at Leach Botanical Garden, the End of the Oregon Trail, Portland's Pioneer Courthouse Square, and the Northwest Service Center. He was first published in Portland Review in 1968. In the 1970s he freelanced for Oregon magazine, Willamette Week, and other publications. He is the author of Clearing the Sky of Thickets and continues to write.  He is a longtime volunteer on the Oregon Historical Marker committee.  David has been privileged to serve as an officer of Oregon Museums Association, Western Museums Association, and Oregon Travel Information Council among other volunteer work.
